The Ukraine seizes the opportunity at Flanders Embryo Auction

Just before the busy foaling season starts, Flanders Foal Auction staged an embryo auction one more time at Sentower Park in Belgium. Of the 25 embryo’s 22 were sold and together they yielded an average price of 21,864 euro. Two Chacco Blues were knocked down for 42,000 euro and will get a future on an Ukraine studfarm, which made some more purchases online.

 “This was amazing! We cannot be but very happy with these results and the confidence of regular and new clients”, say Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts. “They will soon see the results, as the first foals will be born in two weeks already.”

The embryo auction on Friday-night 31 March with guest-speaker Rob Ehrens attracted many visitors and even the youth riders at Sentower Park found their way to the auction. Teams that had finished first, second or third in the Nations Cups received a reduction and this chance was grabbed five times, no less.

Dutch teammembers together bought the Cumano x Casall out of the half-sister of Ci Ci Senjor ASK (1.60m GP) for 11,000 euro, for example. Surely, that is a beautiful memento for their successful weekend. Ireland claimed the reduction three times and bought three embryos, including the Baloubet du Rouet out of Gamine de la Pomme (Darco) for 24,000 euro. Sweden was seriously shopping and made four purchases, and there was Italy with two.

An Austrian bought two embryos online, but it was particularly the Ukraine that stole the show digitally. The two Chacco Blue’s for 42,000 euro each have exceptional pedigrees. One is out of the 1.60m Grand Prix mare Sea Coast Ferly, the other out of the family of the Olympic stallion Hardrock Z. For the Eldorado van de Zeshoek out of the half-sister of Itot du Chateau the winning bid was for 36,000 euro and for the Chacco Blue out of the full sister to Emerald van ’t Ruytershof 32,000 euro. Auctioneer Louis De Cleene could knock down the Chacco Blue out of the 9-yr-old 1.50m level showjumping mare Exquise Lulu for 30,000 euro.

This concludes the embryo season for the time being and soon the foal selections will begin. The very first auction will be held on 17 June at Sentower Park, followed by the one on 22 July at the new international CSI4* show The Equestrian Summer Cup in Moerzeke, Belgium.

 

Oekraïne ziet kansen tijdens Flanders Embryo Auction

Nog net voordat het drukke veulenseizoen van start gaat, knalde Flanders Foal Auction nog één keer met een embryoveiling op Sentower Park in België. Van de 25 embryo’s werden er 22 verkocht en samen brachten ze een gemiddelde prijs van 21.864 euro op. Twee Chacco Blue’s werden afgeslagen voor 42.000 euro en krijgen een toekomst op een Oekraïense fokstal, die nog een aantal aankopen online deed.

 “Ongekend, we kunnen niet anders dat heel content zijn met zo’n resultaat en het vertrouwen van vaste en nieuwe klanten”, vertellen Luk Van Puymbroeck en Gerald Lenaerts. “Ze zullen al snel het resultaat zien, want de eerste veulens worden in twee weken al geboren.”

De embryoveiling op vrijdagavond 31 maart met gastspreker Rob Ehrens werd druk bezocht en zelfs de jeugdruiters op Sentower Park wisten de weg te vinden. Teams die eerste, tweede en derde werden in de landenwedstrijden kregen een kortingsbon en daar werd maar liefst vijf keer gebruik van gemaakt.

Zo kochten de Nederlandse jeugdteams samen de Cumano x Casall uit de halfzus van Ci Ci Senjor ASK (1.60m GP) voor 11.000 euro. Als dat geen mooi aandenken is aan een succesvol weekend. Ierland zette drie tegoedbonnen in en kocht drie embryo’s, waaronder de Baloubet du Rouet uit Gamine de la Pomme (Darco) voor 24.000 euro. Zweden kwam ter plekke sterk voor de dag met vier aankopen, maar ook Italië met twee.

Online kocht een Oostenrijker er twee, maar het was vooral Oekraïne die digitaal de show stal. De twee Chacco Blue’s voor 42.000 euro zijn allebei bijzonder gefokt. Eén komt uit de 1.60m Grand Prix-merrie Sea Coast Ferly, de ander uit de familie van de olympische hengst Hardrock Z. Voor de Eldorado van de Zeshoek uit de halfzus van Itot du Chateau boden ze 36.000 euro en voor de Chacco Blue uit de volle zus van Emerald van ’t Ruytershof 32.000 euro. Veilingmeester Louis De Cleene kon de Chacco Blue uit de negenjarige 1.50m springmerrie Exquise Lulu voor 30.000 euro afslaan.

Daarmee is het embryoseizoen voorlopig ten einde gekomen en gaat binnenkort de veulenselectie van start. De allereerste veulenveiling is op 17 juni op Sentower Park, gevolgd door 22 juli op het nieuwe internationale CSI4* concours The Equestrian Summer Cup in Moerzeke, België.
