Flanders Foal Auction sells striking United Touch S filly for €102,000
United Touch S foals have already proven highly popular at the Flanders Foal Auctions, but what happens when you have a colored filly by the stallion, perhaps the only one born so far? The answer came on Saturday evening, September 12: online bidding only stopped at €102,000.
Even more special is that Lady de L’Ile Z (United Touch S x Copabella Visage) was purchased from France on behalf of an American owner of top-level showjumpers. The filly will therefore have every opportunity to develop her potential in the sport.
The Flanders Foal Auction celebrated its fifth and final foal auction of the year with an average price of €27,578 for the 45 foals sold. Several Grand Prix riders also invested in foals, with buyers from no fewer than 17 different countries. In total, 21 foals were purchased on-site at Sentower Park, 21 online and three by telephone.
“Looking back, we have had a very successful auction year. When we combine the results of all five auctions, we achieved an average price of just under €27,000. It is a great reward and recognition for the breeders, but also for our entire team. It has been a very busy period. And we are not quite finished yet. The first foals can already be weaned and transported, and of course we will help with that as well,” explain Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts.
Son of Fit For Fun for €55,000
Six foals were sold for €44,000 or more at this final auction. A former Olympic medallist purchased Elysian For Fun (Ermitage Kalone x For Pleasure), out of the Olympic mare Fit For Fun, by telephone for €55,000. Conquistador W (Comme il Faut x Kashmir Van Schuttershof), a grandson of Electra van ’t Roosakker, sold for €50,000.
The online bidders held on the longest for the more expensive foals. In addition to the €102,000 paid for the pinto filly, a buyer from the United States bid €52,000 for United Colors van WW Z (United Touch S x Kashmir Van Schuttershof), a half-brother to World Equestrian Championship horse Nelson van ’t Roosakker (1.60m Grand Prix).
Castor van ’t Volpenhof Z (Carambole x Vancouver d’Auvray), a half-brother to Jezebeau BC (1.60m Grand Prix) and closely related to Impress-K van ’t Kattenheye, will move to an online buyer in Italy for €48,000.
A German Grand Prix rider purchased five foals on-site, including Dua Lipa van ’t Koningsbos (Cornet Obolensky x Kannan), out of a half-sister to United Touch S, for €46,000, and Chic Obolensky v/h Kouterhof VV Z (Cornet Obolensky x Chin Chin) for €38,000.
The filly Unique Touch W (United Touch S x Come On), out of the 1.60m Grand Prix mare Skala, will remain in the Netherlands after selling for €44,000.
Embryo auction
Now that the final foals have been auctioned, it does not mean we have to wait until 2027 for the next Flanders Foal Auction. On November 7, the team will return to MET Oliva in Spain for its second embryo auction.

Flanders Foal Auction veilt bonte United Touch S dochter voor 102.000 euro
United Touch S veulens waren al zeer populair op de Flanders Foal Auctions, maar wat gebeurt er als je er een bont merrieveulen van hebt, misschien wel de enige die tot nu toe geboren is? Het antwoord kwam zaterdagavond 12 september: De online biedingen stopten pas bij 102.000 euro. Extra mooi is dat Lady de L’Ile Z (United Touch S x Copabella Visage) vanuit Frankrijk is aangekocht in opdracht van een Amerikaanse eigenares van topspringpaarden en straks dus alle kansen krijgt om zich in de sport te ontwikkelen.
De Flanders Foal Auction vierde de vijfde en laatste veulenveiling van het jaar met een gemiddelde prijs van 27.578 euro voor de 45 veulens. Er waren wel meer Grand Prix ruiters die in veulens investeerden en er werd naar zeventien verschillende landen verkocht. In totaal werden er 21 ter plekke op Sentower Park aangekocht, 21 online en drie per telefoon.
“Terugkijkend hebben we een zeer goed veilingjaar gehad. Als we alle resultaten van de vijf veilingen bij elkaar zetten, hebben we voor net geen 27.000 euro gemiddeld geveild. Het is een mooie beloning en erkenning voor de fokkers, maar ook voor ons gehele team. Het was een drukke periode. Klaar zijn we ook nog niet. De eerste veulens kunnen al gespeend worden en op transport en daar helpen we natuurlijk mee”, vertellen Luk Van Puymbroeck en Gerald Lenaerts.
Zoon van Fit For Fun voor 55.000 euro
In deze slotveiling werden zes veulens voor 44.000 euro en meer verkocht. Een voormalig olympische medaillewinnaar kocht via de telefoon Elysian For Fun (Ermitage Kalone x For Pleasure) uit de olympische merrie Fit For Fun voor 55.000 euro en Conquistador W (Comme il Faut x Kashmir Van Schuttershof), kleinzoon van Electra van ’t Roosakker, voor 50.000 euro.
De online bieders hielden het langst aan bij de duurdere veulens. Naast de 102.000 euro voor het bonte merrieveulen, kwam er vanuit Amerika een bod van 52.000 euro voor United Colors van WW Z (United Touch S x Kashmir Van Schuttershof), de halfbroer van WK-paard Nelson van’ t Roosakker (1.60m GP). Castor van ’t Volpenhof Z (Carambole x Vancouver d’Auvray), halfbroer van JEzebeau BC (1.60m GP) en nauw verwant aan Impress-K van ’t Kattenheye, verhuist voor 48.000 euro naar een online koper uit Italië.
Een Duitse Grand Prix amazone kocht ter plekke vijf veulens, waaronder Dua Lipa van ’t Koningsbos (Cornet Obolensky x Kannan) uit de halfzus van United Touch S voor 46.000 euro en Chic Obolensky v/h Kouterhof VV Z (Cornet Obolensky x Chin Chin) voor 38.000 euro. Het merrieveulen Unique Touch W (United Touch S x Come On) uit de 1.60m Grand Prix merrie Skala blijft voor 44.000 euro in Nederland.
Embryo veiling
Nu de laatste veulens geveild zijn, betekent dat niet dat we tot 2027 hoeven te wachten op de volgende Flanders Foal Auction: op 7 november veilt het team voor de tweede keer embryo’s tijdens MET Oliva in Spanje.
