Flanders Foal Auction moves to Travers Horse Facility, near De Peelbergen

Once again Flanders Foal Auction has had to change its location just before the auction. But for the planned foal auction of 8 August in Beervelde, Belgium, a splendid alternative was found. The auction moves to the Netherlands to the Travers Horse Facility, at walking distance from Equestrian Centre De Peelbergen where the Dutch National Showjumping Championship will take place that same weekend.

Luk Van Puymbroek and Gerald Lenaerts are happy with this solution. “It is a magnificent, luxurious accommodation. Very attractively laid out. We will again work with a limited number of guests in view of the Corona guidelines, but in any case we can auction live and show the foals a few more times via the livestreaming to the people who want to place their bids via the computer or telephone.”

Travers Horse Facility is the (temporary) operating base for many foreign riders that allows them to perform in the horse sport in Europe. The big accommodation with, amongst other things, 46 stables, 8 wash places, 28 paddocks, vast indoor- and outdoor rings and 14 appartements is owned by the Christiaens Group, which grew big in mushroom growing.

The thirty auction foals can show their best. Already a lot of interest has been displayed in the collection that includes, amongst others, offspring of Chacco Blue, Heartbreaker, Emerald, Comme il Faut, Cornet Obolensky, Diamant de Semilly, Conthargos, Quabri de L’Isle, Catoki, Tobago Z and Eldorado van de Zeshoek. All the foals are on the dam’s side closely related to 1.60m Grand Prix showjumping horses.

A limited number of VIP seats are available and can be reserved via sigrid@flandersfoalauction.be.
